My 2023 Letter to Customers

Every year I write to all of Carta’s customers to both thank them for trusting us as they build the companies of the future and to share how we hope to better support them in the coming year. Below is what I sent to them for what to expect in 2023:

First, I want to thank you so much for being a customer. We exist because of you and to serve you.

As we look to 2023, I want to give you a peek into four new products this year.

Global Startup Compensation Benchmarks

We have made improvements to Carta Total Comp’s data models to bring salary and equity compensation data for over 45 countries and counting. You will be able to know exactly how much to pay your employees anywhere in the world and in any role. By Q2, you will be able to send offer letters to any employee around the world in their local currency.

Tax advice for employees

Every startup employee has a lot of questions about their equity. Last year we launched Carta Tax Advisory to help you answer your employees’ tax questions and help them get the most out of their equity. Carta Tax Advisors will hold customized webinars, and unlimited 1:1 sessions with you and your employees to answer any equity tax questions they might have.

Run your fund from your phone

This year we’re launching a dedicated mobile app for GPs. By the end of the year, you will be able to run your entire fund from your phone. Carta GPs will be able to chat with their fund admin team, call capital, or submit fund expenses with a few taps on their phone.

Secondary Block Trades

It’s challenging to accurately price and sell your private market shares in a vacuum. This is why, this year, we are adding Secondary Blocks to our Liquidity solutions suite. Our team will meet with you to understand your needs and connect you to investors from our institutional investor network. Everything else from there happens on Carta and the company’s cap table is updated automatically after your transaction.
